I consulted Dr. John da Silva (our Family Doctor) and Dr. Brian Berman (Discovery Primary Care Doctor) and both recommended the flu vaccine. I got my flu shot today, 3rd year in a row. I didn’t feel any pain nor discomfort. I earned 2000 Vitality points for the flu vaccination.
I had a lousy cold 2 weeks ago.
This is the 3rd year in a row that I get vaccinated. No cold and no flu in the past 3 years with the exception of 2 weeks ago (as already mentioned I only got the flu shot this afternoon). My dad also got his flu vaccine this afternoon.

I drove to Ackermans Pharmacy in Primrose, Germiston. Why travel so far when there are Dis-Chem and Clicks pharmacies so close to home? Ackermans was the 1st pharmacy in Johannesburg to provide COVID vaccines. I have been going to them ever since for COVID and flu vaccinations. Excellent service👍👌👏
The cost is R82. We didn’t pay anything. If you are on Discovery (and I guess it will be the case with most Medical Aids) you won’t have to pay. A Medical Aid will be too happy to pay for your flu shot as the cost of paying for meds should you get the flu is so much higher.
