This afternoon I received my flu vaccination at Dis-Chem Bedford Centre.
I’ve made it a habit to get the flu shot each year since the COVID-19 pandemic. While some of my friends prefer not to be vaccinated—and I respect their views—I personally choose to stay protected.
Before going ahead, I consulted both my GP, Dr. David Berman, and my father’s GP, Dr. John da Silva. Both recommended the flu vaccine.
The cost is approximately R97. If you’re a member of Discovery Health, the vaccination may be covered. There are also potential rewards, such as Discovery Miles, through their “Personal Health Pathway” programme. I’ve recently joined this programme and will share more insights as I learn more.
Should you get vaccinated? That’s a personal decision—but your doctor is the best person to guide you based on your individual health needs.
To borrow a line from a Discovery campaign:
“May you enjoy more living and less sniffling this winter season.”
