Yes you do but you have to complete the required number of Vitality points in the new year. So if you were on Diamond status in December 2024 you will continue being on Diamond status in January 2025 but you will need to complete the 50 000 Vitality points in 2025.
In January 2024 friends of mine were on Gold status and I could not understand how a member of Vitality early in the year (who had not done much training) could already be on a high status such as Gold.
My own experience:
I joined Discovery Vitality on the 1st January 2024 and I reached ‘Diamond’ status at the end of May 2024. It was a snail’s pace start and it seemed that regardless of how much I trained ‘bronze’ status would never come to an end.
I started getting many Vitality points when whilst doing my regular workouts I underwent the recommended Discovery tests including the ‘Vitality Health Check’, vaccinations, etc… I then moved speedily from one status to the next.
This article is not about how to get to ‘Diamond’ but rather to show that should you train regularly, do the recommended Discovery health checks, screening and vaccinations… you will reach a max of vitality points allowed in any 12-month period. In my case it was 69 300 points.
I reached this value mid of last year and the good news is even though I could not add any ‘Vitality Points’ (to the 69 300 points I already had) I was still getting ‘Vitality Active Rewards’. ‘Vitality Active Rewards’ are important. These rewards provide you with freebies, Discovery Miles, discount on healthy food (at Woolies, Checkers, Clicks, Dis-Chem) as well as a number of other benefits.
