A combined endoscopy (usually a gastroscopy + colonoscopy done in the same session) isn’t done on a fixed schedule for everyone. How often it’s done depends entirely on why you’re having it. I did mine a few months ago, no traces of cancer but I was diagnosed with H. Pylori. H. Pylori is more carcinogenic to the stomach than cigarette smoking is. Eradicating H. Pylori is one of the most effective cancer-prevention steps in medicine.

I consulted Dr. Hartley on the 5th Feb.

      • Height: 1.82 m
      • Weight: 72 kg
      • Blood pressure: 100/ 61
      • Systolic (100): low-normal
      • Diastolic (61): low-normal
      • Saturated Oxygen: 94%
      • BMI (Body Mass Index): ~21.7 (healthy range)
      • Sugar: 4,7 (I had full breakfast prior to the test)
      • Temp: 62.3C.

      All good🙏

When to do my next combined endoscopy (combined gastro + colonoscopy)? I did my 1st combined endoscopy mid-2025 and Dr. Hartley recommends the next one in 6 years’ time👍

I have just started the 2nd line therapy for H. Pylori. I was diagnosed with H. Pylori during the ‘combined endoscopy’ last year. I felt lousy during the initial stages of treatment so I stopped… silly me, I should have consulted Dr. Hartley. The good news is that H. Pylori is treatable and curable with antibiotics + acid-reducing meds. After treatment, reinfection in adults is uncommon. I started the 2nd line treatment yesterday and I am pleased that it only lasts 2 weeks.

I find Dr. Hartley very competent. He did my Hernia Repair about 2 years ago. For anyone interested:
