Multivitamins Slow Cognitive Aging in Seniors

Multivitamins Slow Cognitive Aging in Seniors | Snippet

In a study published in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, researchers report that taking a multivitamin that you can buy at the pharmacy can slow cognitive decline associated with aging by as much as two years. In the study, researchers observed and tested 573 adults 60 and older in person. Overall, about 5,000 people took part in the three studies.

The in-person study showed the multivitamin provided a “modest benefit” on global cognition over 2 years, compared to a placebo. Global cognition includes brain activities such as reasoning, attention, and planning.
