It Was Another Wonderful Morning for a Great Cause
It was a beautiful, cold but sunny winter morning in Johannesburg as hundreds of walkers came together for another successful 5 km Fun Walk for Cancer Awareness.

The event was exceptionally well organised and created a wonderful community atmosphere. After completing the walk, every participant received a commemorative medal, while food stalls, live music and family entertainment made for a memorable morning.

Pink was the colour of the day, with walkers proudly wearing pink clothing and accessories in support of cancer awareness. After the walk, our walking group enjoyed a delicious brunch and great conversation at Café BilliBi, bringing a perfect end to a wonderful morning.

Keeping Friends in Our Thoughts
Our thoughts and prayers are with Britt’s dad, who recently underwent surgery for colon cancer. We wish him a smooth recovery and hope that he will soon regain his strength and return home to his family.
The Organisers
The Shuffling Walking Team organised another outstanding event.
What began as a group of friends determined to make a difference has grown into a wonderful annual event that raises awareness, supports those affected by cancer and brings the community together one step at a time.

Food Stalls
There were several food stalls offering a variety of delicious treats.
I enjoyed two rissois de camarão (Portuguese prawn rissoles) and a freshly baked pastel de nata.
The prawn rissoles were tasty, although they were served cold. Warming them in a microwave for a minute or two before serving would have made them even more enjoyable.
The pastel de nata, on the other hand, was wonderfully fresh and absolutely delicious.
