Intro
Beautiful blue skiesπ but it got hot towards the endπ₯΅. Overall, another most enjoyable hike. Thanks to everyone who joined us on the 11K and the 15K hikes. Welcome back to Erik and Sylvia. Erik spent a few weeks in Cape Town where he enjoyed a great deal of hiking. Welcome back home Sylvia. Sylvia went to Turkey on holiday.
Thank you to all the hosts: David, Erik, Maggie, Sylvia and Teslar. Great photos and our gratitude to: Anel, Catherine, Erik, Maggie, Sherri, Sylvia, Teslar and Tony.
Some of us went for lunch, some “Members” of the ‘Milkshake Club’ only stayed for their milkshakes and social. Always fine-dining at the superb Kraal Restaurant at Thaba Eco Hotel.

Our Next Walk and Hike
Join us on Sunday the 7th January 2024 for the 11K Hike or 15K Hike: a good workout, in great company and in beautiful surrounds!
Date
Sunday, 7th January 2024.
The JCP Entrance
We have been using the new JCP Entrance Precinct in the South of the Reserve for quite a while: -26.303725, 28.010931 (traveling up Peggy Vera Road, the new precinct entrance is immediately after the Klipriviersberg Recreation Centre on the right) – directions below.
What to Bring and Where We Meet
What to bring: Water (1L to 2L) and something to eat, a hat, sunblock, good shoes – and a camera to record the occasion! A degree of fitness will enable you to enjoy the hike or the walk.
This is a great workout (you will burn 1,500 calories on the 15 K hike and about 1,000 on the 11 K hike), in great company and in beautiful surrounds. You will also get a good dose of Vitamin D.
We start and end the walk and hikes at the South entrance to Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve on Peggy Vera Road (NOT the North entrance to the Nature Reserve).
As you drive up on Peggy Vera Rd the best is to look for Klipriviersberg Recreation Center (on the right). The entrance to the Nature Reserve is the next one also on the right.
Go through security and park your vehicle – should the parking area be full, you will have to park on the lawn area outside. After parking, walk towards the lappa type area. On the other side of the lappa you will see a patch of grass, a small pond and a small bridge with a big steel gate as well as toilet facilities. The meeting area is between the lappa and the pond.
Please note: We would love to have your company but⦠please DO NOT attend if you are with COVID or if you have had COVID in the past 7 days or have been in contact with a person with COVID in the past 7 days. Thank you very much for your understanding.
