Intro – The Chocolate Trail Bedfordview – 2025 April 12

A nice group, an invigorating walk, a very pleasant social and brunch. Thank you to Candee and her Team for hosting the event, thank you to all who participated, thank you Lisa for all the amazing photos and thank you to JP (Manager at the Chocolate Factory) for organising a long table for our group. I am trying to get rid of a lousy cold… sadly I missed this event.

Candee was saying that the Chocolate Factory was packed and vibey: the restaurant was brimming to capacity, the chocolate shop was full and so was the chocolate class in progress. Good to see👍👌👏👏

Walking Has Many Health Benefits

  • Cardiovascular health – Walking can improve your cardiovascular fitness and reduce your risk of heart disease and stroke.
  • Bone health – Walking is a weight-bearing exercise that can help strengthen your bones and slow bone loss as you age. This can reduce your risk of osteoporosis.
  • Muscle health – Walking can increase muscle strength and endurance, and help ease muscle pain and stiffness.
  • Weight management – Walking can help you maintain a healthy weight and lose body fat.
  • Mental health – Walking can reduce stress and tension, and improve your mood, cognition, memory, and sleep.
  • Balance and coordination – Walking can improve your balance and coordination, which can help prevent falls and injuries.
  • Immune system – Walking can stimulate the secretion of short-chain fatty acids, which can reduce inflammation and improve your immune system.
  • Alzheimer’s risk – A study found that men who walked more than a quarter of a mile per day had half the incidence of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease than those who walked less.
  • Joint health – Walking can help strengthen the muscles in your legs, which can stabilize and protect your joints from further damage.
