Intro – The Bedfordview Kensington Heritage Walk – 2023 Aug 27
Brrr… it was cold in the early morning (3C – 37F) but towards the end of the walk it was a sunny and very pleasant day (20C – 68F). We had a large group. Thanks to all who participated. Sadly Julie felt unwell but the very good news is that she has since fully recovered🙏👏🎈
Thank you
Thank you to the co-hosts David, Erik, Sylvia and to Teslar. Erik has just returned from a 3 months visit to Germany and it was great seeing him again – Erik says he is enjoying the sunny weather. Thank you to everyone who contributed with all those amazing photos: Bridgette, Melanie, Paul, Sylvia, Teslar and Tony.
Our gratitude to Navin, to the Members of ‘Keep It Cklean‘ and to everyone else who regularly contribute to keeping our suburb clean👍👌🙏.
People love the magnificent Entrance Hall to Jeppe High School for Boys. Fortunately we were able to do a brief visit. People also love the pipe band and luckily enough for our group they were practicing.
We did our 1100 calories workout👍👌👏😎. Please do join us on upcoming Kensington walks as well as on our hikes at Klipriviersberg.
I enjoyed the walk, the social and the brunch – trust me you cannot go wrong with a delicious cappuccino, a three egg omelette with cheddar cheese, toast and… the milk tart was delicious as always. Joanna and Rochelle stated that they enjoyed their meals. The food took a bit long to arrive but we were a large group and most of us were not in a hurry😋☕

Worth Mentioning…
It is worth mentioning that:
- In these walks and hikes you meet friends and you make new ones.
- Kensington is a Buyer’s Paradise – large, affordable homes, good schools (private and public), the nearby shopping malls of Bedford Centre, Park Meadows and Eastgate, tree lined streets, friendly people, a lovely suburb. It is most enjoyable to walk, run and/ or cycle in many parts of Kensington.
As one walks through the suburb it is encouraging to see how individuals and companies are renovating their properties and in so doing, increasing the value of their properties as well as the value of adjacent properties👍👌👏. Conversely the owners who do not care to even paint their walls decrease the market value of all the properties in the street they are in👎.
